Kakuro,
also known as Cross Sums, is a challenging number puzzle, solved
in a crossword style grid.
The
rules are easy to learn : A number above the diagonal line in a
black square is the sum of the white squares to the right of
it. A number below the diagonal line is the sum of the
white squares in the sequence below it.
For
regular kakuro puzzles, you
may only use the digits 1 to 9, and a digit can only be used
once in any sequence.
In
addition, BestKakuro creates puzzles where zeros are allowed in
the solution. For these puzzles, you may use any of the
digits 0 to 9. As with regular Kakuro puzzles, each digit
can only be used once in any sequence.
